DEKON TOUR 1 - DOMES OF ISTANBUL TOUR (half day morning tour)

Half day morning visits of the highlights; Hippodrome, St. Sophia Museum, Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar.

Visit the magnificent St. Sophia; the Church of Divine Wisdom, one of the greatest marvels of architecture, constructed as a basilica in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian.

Visit of Blue Mosque, facing St. Sophia, famous with its blue İznik tiles and unique with 6 minarets, built in the name of Sultan Ahmet.

Hippodrome, center of sportive events (chariot races, athletics) and political activities of the old city. Serpentine Column, Obelisk of Theodosius and German Fountain of Wilhelm II are the monuments decorating the Hippodrome.
The final visit is the Grand Bazaar; most attractive shopping center and the biggest "souk" in the world with nearly 4000 shops selling antiques, jewelry, gold, carpets, leather and souvenirs.

Topkapi Palace, the residence of Ottomans Sultans for centuries. Visit of Imperial Treasury and sacred Islamic relics of Prophet Mohammed, kitchen, Chinese porcelain, weapons, calligraphy sections.

Visit of Rüstem Pasha Mosque, completed in 1563 and designed by Sinan the Architect. Typical sample of Islamic architecture amidst the rows of shops near the Spice Bazaar, famed with its exquisite and colorful tiles set in floral and geometric designs.

Our first stop is a brief visit to Spice Market, one of Istanbul's most colorful, bustling attractions.

Following the Spice Market visit, embark a motorboat to enjoy the Bosphorus Cruise, through the waterway separating the two continents, Europe and Asia, with a possibility to take photographs of marble palaces, ancient wooden villas of Ottoman architecture besides modern residences.

Rumeli Fortress (from the boat - no interior visit), historical armament built by the Conqueror to control and protect the Bosphorus. A unique example of military architecture.

DEKON TOUR 5 - BOSPHORUS CRUISE & DISCOVER ASIA TOUR (full day tour)

Our first stop is a brief visit to Spice Bazaar, one of Istanbul's most colorful, bustling attractions.

In the afternoon, we begin by driving across the first Bosphorus Bridge, which for a time was the world's longest suspension bridge, and head for the summit of Çamlica Hill, which offers panoramic views of Istanbul, the Sea of Marmara and the Princes' Islands. From here a short drive brings us to the Beylerbeyi Palace  on the shore of the Bosphorus. One of the most elegant of the late Ottoman palaces, Beylerbeyi boasts six sumptuously furnished reception halls with Bohemian crystal chandeliers and Sèvres and Chinese vases, including a main salon with an indoor fountain.

DEKON TOUR 6 - JEWISH HERITAGE TOUR (full day tour)

"Discover the traditional Jewish quarter of Istanbul”


We begin our tour of Istanbul's Jewish heritage with a visit to the Galata District of Istanbul and the Ashkenazi Synagogue. Built in 1900 by Austrian Jews, it is the only active Ashkenazi Synagogue in the city. From there we will take a short walk to the Neve Shalom Synagogue*, built by two young Turkish-Jewish architects to meet the demands of the growing Jewish population in the neighborhood in 1930. Afterwards, we will visit the Jewish Museum of Turkey, located in the former Zulfaris Synagogue, constructed by Italian Jews in the 15th century, during the Republic of Genoa's rule of the Galata district as a semi-autonomous precinct. Next, we will take a stroll along the breathtaking Golden Horn to the neighborhood of Balat, once the most important Jewish neighborhood in Istanbul, as evidenced by the superb architecture of its Jewish houses and the Ahrida, Istanbul's oldest synagogue. First built in the 1400s, the building has been extensively restored and reflects architectural styles from several periods. It houses an immaculate collection of carved wood furniture, including a pulpit that resembles a boat's prow - possibly a reference to Noah's Ark. For lunch we'll enjoy authentic Turkish cuisine in the charming Bosphorus village of Ortakoy. Lunch will be followed by a leisurely tour of the village that boasts an alluring combination of well - preserved historic wooden houses and charming local boutiques. Ortakoy's Jewish roots will be explored with a visit to the Etz Ahayim Synagogue, rebuilt in 1941 following a fire, within view of the iconic Bosphorus bridge.

There is no better way to escape the bustle of Istanbul for a day than with a visit to the idyllic Princes' Islands. Famous for their mild climates, lush vegetation, and ornate Ottoman houses, all the islands are unspoiled by traffic. Instead of cars there are carriages, called phaetons, which we will use to tour the island and its beautiful scenery studded with elegant mansions draped with purple bougainvillea, reminiscent of a more leisured and graceful era.

Cruise in the Marmara Sea to Princes' Islands by boat. Stop at Büyükada, the popular summer resort with pinewood scenery and wooden mansions, once the pleasure island of Byzantine Princes.

Tour of the island by horse-drawn carriages before lunch at a fish restaurant.

Evening return to İstanbul and transfer to hotels.

DEKON TOUR 11 - WONDERS OF EPHESUS TOUR (1 night accommodation in Kusadasi)

We catch an early flight to the city of Izmir on the Aegean coast, then drive south to the antique city of Ephesus. This is one of the world's richest and most rewarding archaeological sites with impressive ruins dating from the Classical Greek, Hellenistic, Roman and early Byzantine periods. It is also closely associated with the beginnings of the Christian faith.

In addition to being the city to which the Letters to the Ephesians were written, St. John and St. Paul both visited the city, and the Virgin Mary herself is said to have spent her last days nearby. Among the highlights of Ephesus tour will be the antique theatre, the famed Library of Celsus, the brothel, the vast Basilica of St. John, the Mosque of Isabey, the Temple of Artemis (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World) and a group of early Byzantine mansions that feature incredibly well-preserved floor mosaics and frescoes.

At Ephesus, the past comes to life in a pageantry of architectural and artistic marvels the like of which can be found almost nowhere else in the world. Finally we will make a short pilgrimage to the House of the Virgin Mary, which stands high on a mountainside overlooking the Aegean Sea and the Greek island of Samos. Drive to Kusadasi at the end of the tour and overnight at Kusadasi.

Our first real encounter with Cappadocia almost Martian landscape is in the Dervent valley.  We visit Pasabag's "fairy chimneys”, where the voice of the wind harmonizes with songs of the fairies.

From here we pause at Avanos center of terracotta art which is a popular destination because of its attractive old town with cobbled streets, and views over the river and is its production of earthenware pottery, it is also the most economic activity in the town. The ceramic trade in this district and its countless pottery factories date right back to the Hittites, and the ceramic clay from the red silt of the Kızılırmak has always been used. A visit to ceramic & tile center to see how the ceramics  made by hand.

After lunch we visit the famous Goreme Open Air Museum to see the best examples of Byzantine art in Cappadocia. People of Goreme, at the heart of the Cappadocia Region, realized that these soft rocks could be easily carved out to form houses, churches, monasteries. These Christian sanctuaries contain many examples of Byzantine art from the post-iconoclastic period. These frescoes are a unique artistic achievement from this period. You visit a carpet cooperative, where you'll see how exquisite Turkish carpets are hand-woven. We complete the tour with a panoramic view of the valleys of Cappadocia.

DEKON TOUR 13 - Troy & Gallipoli Tour (Anzacs) (Long Day Tour)

Early morning drive to Gallipoli, famous battlefield, Anzac Cove, War Cemeteries (Beach Cemetery, Quinn's Post, The Nek) and the Anzac Memorials (Lone Pine - Australian Memorial, Conk Bayırı - New Zealand Memorial, Hellespont - English Memorial) of the naval battle (18 March 1915) during the World War I.

Ferry across Dardanelles. We'll see the maquette Trojan Horse used in the famous movie "Troy” before lunch at Çanakkale. Visit to the ancient city of Troy, famous with the legendary Trojan Horse from the times of Beautiful Helen, the Queen of Sparta and Paris, the Trojan Prince.

Dinner on the way and late evening return to İstanbul.
