Secretary General MESS-Turkish Employers' Association of Metal Industries

Born in Ankara, Hakan Yıldırımoğlu graduated from TED Ankara College and received his BA from Dokuz Eylül University, School of Law in 1996. He studied Industrial Relations and Human Resources at the Social Sciences Institute of İstanbul University, with his thesis titled as "A Comparative Study on the European Union and Industrial Action in Turkey”. Yıldırımoğlu started his career at Koloğlu Law Firm in 1995, where he worked as a solicitor until 1997.  Between 1997 and 2003, he worked at Ren Holding A.Ş as Legal Counsel & Head of HR, between 2003 and 2007 at Türkiye Şişe Cam Fabrikaları A.Ş. as Industrial Relations Deputy Manager and during 2007-2010 period as Industrial Relations Manager. In 2010 he started to work at Koç Holding A.Ş. as Industrial Relations Coordinator. He had started his career at MESS as Chief Deputy Secretary General in May 2012 and was promoted to Secretary General position in May 2013. 

Yıldırımoğlu undertook collective bargaining negotiations for many different businesses including metal, banking, textile, glassworks, paper, petrochemicals, mining, marine transportation, shipbuilding and food industry. He has also taken part in various seminars and conferences as a speaker and published articles about labour law and industrial relations.  He also worked as Member of Advisory Board for Turkish Textile Employers’ Association (TTSIS) during 2000-2003, as Board Member and Secretary General of Glassworks Employers’ Association during 2007-2010 and as Board Member of the Koç Holding Retirement and Provident Fund Foundation during 2010-2012. Yıldırımoğlu is a Board Member at MESS Education Foundation (MEV), SIBEM Testing and Certification Centre, Minimum Wage Determination Commission, TİSK Microsurgery and Reconstruction Foundation and the National Qualifications Framework Committee. He is a member of İstanbul Bar Association and People Management Association of Turkey (PERYÖN).
